Interspecific tooth
shape variation

Sharks display a high interspecific tooth shape diversity. Divergent gene
expression patterns among species may induce shape differences between molariform,
cuspidate, flat, and rounded teeth. Besides, jaw morphologies may
impact tooth morphogenesis. We want to quantify the jaw morphologies of
various shark species to investigate the jaw physical parameters that can explain
divergences in tooth morphologies.
