Sharks display a high interspecific tooth shape diversity. Shape differences between molariform, cuspidate, flat, and rounded teeth may be induced by divergent gene expression patterns among species. Besides, the jaw morphologies may impact the tooth morphogenesis. We want to quantify the jaw morphologies of various shark species to investigate the jaw physical parameters that can explain divergences in tooth morphologies.
